Blooket Game Modes

Every Blooket game mode with its real per-question token rate. Sortable by tokens-per-minute, hosting type, or alphabetically. Filter for the ‘best for tokens’, ‘best for XP’, AFK-friendly, or short-session modes, these used to be separate pages, but the math is identical, so we keep one source of truth.

Mode categories

What kind of game is each mode.

Blooket's modes split into seven natural groups. The token rate is similar within a category; the strategy isn't.

Tower defense
Tower Defense, Tower Defense 2

Round-clear pacing, complex strategy. TD2 is the only AFK-viable mode in the catalog. Both reworked to 2 tk/q in 2025, putting them at the top of the per-minute leaderboard.

Time management
Cafe, Factory

Build-and-serve loops where correct answers feed an upgrade or production line. Long sessions, compounding token rates. Cafe is the steady leader; Factory has the highest ceiling once a King-of-Hearts line is built.

Battle / arena
Battle Royale, Monster Brawl, Laser Tag, Mini Mine, Star Grazer, Tag or Treat

Player-vs-player or player-vs-environment combat with answers driving attacks. Rates vary, Battle Royale at 1.5 tk/q, the WASD-arena modes at 2 tk/q post-rework.

Solo / homework
Crazy Kingdom, Pirate Pool, Plushie Panic, Study, Zorblitz

Single-player loops with no host required. Consistent pacing, no Plus Bonus. Study is the XP-grind pick; Zorblitz is the newest (Sept 2025).

Quest / collection
Gold Quest, Fishing Frenzy, Egg Hunt, Coco Cabana

Token-collection mechanics layered on the question loop. Gold Quest is the high-variance king (steal/swap mechanics push the ceiling); Fishing Frenzy is asymmetric (1 tk/q hosted, 2 tk/q solo).

Speed / sprint
Racing, Classic, Blook Rush, Crypto Hack

Short, fast-paced rounds that finish in 5 minutes or less. Racing and Classic are the post-rework leaders; Blook Rush and Crypto Hack still pay 0.75 tk/q legacy rate.

Social deduction
Deceptive Dinos

Among Us-inspired hosted mode where some players are imposters. Reworked to 2 tk/q in 2025. The retired Imposters was the predecessor.

Methodology

How the per-minute rates are calculated.

The tokens-per-minutecolumn is per-question rate multiplied by realistic questions-per-minute for each mode's pacing, plus end-of-round and round-clear bonuses scaled across an average game length. The min and max bracket the spread caused by skill differences, hosted-game timing, and the Plus Bonus.

Per-question rates are sourced directly from the Blooket Wiki for each mode. Pre-rework rates (where applicable) are documented next to the post-rework rate on each row, so you can sanity-check against older guides that haven't been updated for the 2025 changes.

The 500 token daily capbounds total earnings regardless of which mode you play. Multi-mode rotation does not extend the cap, it's account-level. Optimization is about hitting the cap with the least time spent, not earning more than the cap.

Quick math

Cap-time at the top rates.

  • Tower Defense 2 at 20 tk/min mid: ~25 minutes to cap (AFK).
  • Cafe at 14 tk/min mid: ~36 minutes to cap (active).
  • Classic at 12 tk/min mid: ~42 minutes to cap (with XP gain).
  • Crypto Hack at 5 tk/min mid: ~100 minutes to cap (slow).
Solo vs Hosted

When the same mode pays differently.

Hosted games

+ Plus Bonus, − occasional rate cut.

Hosted (live) games unlock the +10 Plus Bonus if either you or the host owns Blooket Plus, a flat bonus per game on top of the per-question rate. Two modes pay less in hosted form than solo: Fishing Frenzy drops to 1 tk/q hosted vs 2 tk/q solo. Crypto Hack, Blook Rush, and Gold Quest are hosted-only at 0.75 tk/q.

Solo / homework

No bonus, but consistent rate and pacing.

Solo runs you control entirely, answer speed isn't gated by other players. Crazy Kingdom, Pirate Pool, Plushie Panic, Study, and Zorblitz are solo / homework only. Tower Defense, Tower Defense 2, Factory, Cafe, Fishing Frenzy, and Monster Brawl are available in both modes.

2025 rework

What changed when the rates flattened.

In 2025 Blooket bumped most game modes to a flat 2 tokens per correct answer. Before that, rates varied from 0.75 to 1.2 tk/q depending on the mode. The reworked modes, Cafe, Tower Defense, Tower Defense 2, Factory, Racing, Crazy Kingdom, Deceptive Dinos, all roughly doubled their effective token rate.

Not every mode got bumped. Crypto Hack and Blook Rush still pay 0.75 tk/q. Gold Quest stays at 0.75 tk/q because its steal/swap mechanic compensates with high variance. Battle Royale sits at 1.5 tk/q. Monster Brawl and seasonal Snowball Fight-style modes hover around 1 tk/q. The table above flags reworked modes with the “Reworked” badge and shows both the legacy and current rates.

Combined with the 3× permanent multiplier (March 2025), a typical session today produces ~3× the tokens a 2024 session would have at the same answer count. The token-grind calculator below uses the post-rework figures.

How to pick

Match mode to session length.

  • Got 5 minutes? Racing, Classic, or Egg Hunt / Tag or Treat in season. Fast cap contribution without downtime.
  • Got 25 minutes? Cafe, Tower Defense, or Factory. Longer runs let token rate compound on the rework rate.
  • Going AFK? Tower Defense 2 on Sunny Meadow with a Majestic Unicorn line. Set it up, walk away, hit the cap.
  • Big single-game payout? Gold Quest. Stealing mechanics push the ceiling well past every other mode, but the floor is meaningfully lower.
  • Pure XP grinding? Classic (highest XP tier per the Wiki) or Study for the no-overhead solo loop.
Retired modes

The four modes Blooket pulled.

None are returning. Listed for archival completeness, and because the question still ranks for search.

Tower of Doom

Retired
0.9 tk/q · solo

Solo dungeon-crawler retired due to low player count. Cited as not worth reworking. The only retired mode that never got a homework variant. No replacement.

Pirate's Voyage

Retired
1.2 tk/q · Plus hosted

Plus-exclusive hosted mode retired for low Plus-mode player count. Replaced by Pirate Pool (solo / homework). Mechanics partially survive in Pirate Pool.

Snowball Fight

Retired
1 tk/q · Season 1 winter

Season 1 holiday mode retired after a poor community reception. Many of its mechanics were ported into Blook Rush, which still ships today. Santa's Workshop is the current Christmas-window equivalent.

Imposters

Retired
Deleted · social deduction

Among Us-inspired social-deduction mode pulled by Blooket. Cited reasons: copyright concerns and combat / violence framing. Deceptive Dinos is the spiritual successor with a different theme.

Common questions

Tokens, XP, AFK, the rework, Plus.

Which Blooket game mode gives the most tokens?

Tower Defense 2 is the highest-output mode if you're optimizing for the 500-token daily cap, especially because it can run AFK. Among active-play modes, Cafe and Tower Defense (post-rework, 2 tk/q) are the steady leaders. Gold Quest has the highest single-game ceiling thanks to stealing/swap mechanics, but it's high variance, your floor is much lower than its average suggests.

What is the 2025 game mode rework?

Blooket bumped most modes to 2 tokens per correct question. Modes that used to pay 0.75–1.2 tk/q (Cafe, Tower Defense, Tower Defense 2, Factory, Racing, Crazy Kingdom, Deceptive Dinos) all moved up. A few are still on legacy rates: Crypto Hack and Blook Rush at 0.75, Battle Royale at 1.5, Santa's Workshop at 1.5, Monster Brawl at 1, Gold Quest at 0.75, Fishing Frenzy at 1 hosted / 2 solo. Rows in the table show the pre-rework rate when applicable.

Does it matter if I play solo or in a hosted game?

Same per-question rate in most modes, but hosted games unlock the +10 Plus Bonus if either you or the host has Blooket Plus. Two exceptions: Fishing Frenzy pays 1 tk/q in hosted vs 2 tk/q in solo (so solo is the right pick if you're farming); and Crazy Kingdom, Pirate Pool, Plushie Panic, Study, and Zorblitz are solo / homework only with no hosted version.

What's the best mode for XP?

Classic gives the most XP per question per the Blooket Wiki, it's in the highest XP tier. Study (solo) is also strong because there's no game-loop overhead, so questions-per-minute is high. The 300 XP daily cap fills fastest in either mode.

How do I AFK farm Blooket tokens?

Tower Defense 2 with the Sunny Meadow map and a Majestic Unicorn line is the standard setup. The mode keeps awarding tokens for round clears even without active answering. It's the only mode in the AFK-friendly filter for that reason, every other mode gates token payout behind question accuracy.

Are Plus modes worth it for tokens?

No. Plus-exclusive modes (Busy Bees, Laser Tag, Mini Mine, Star Grazer, Coco Cabana, Egg Hunt, Tag or Treat, Santa's Workshop) all sit at standard 2 tk/q with no special token multiplier. The Plus Bonus is what's worth it, +10 tokens per game when you or the host has Plus, not the modes themselves.

How many game modes does Blooket have?

27 currently playable: 18 free and 9 Plus-exclusive. Plus a handful of retired modes (Tower of Doom, Pirate's Voyage, Snowball Fight, Imposters) and seasonal reskins (Candy Quest / Shamrock Quest of Gold Quest; Cocoa Cottage of Coco Cabana). The table above shows all active modes plus their reskin notes.

What modes are best for short Blooket sessions?

Racing, Classic, Egg Hunt, Tag or Treat, and Study all run 5 minutes or less per game. Racing has the fastest per-game token contribution (8–14 tk/min on a finished sprint). Classic doubles as the highest-XP mode, useful when you want to clear the 300 XP daily cap in the same run. For a 10-minute pocket of free time, stick to short-session modes; the longer-game modes (Cafe, Factory, Tower Defense) lose token efficiency on truncated sessions.

Are retired Blooket modes ever coming back?

Tower of Doom, Pirate's Voyage, Snowball Fight, and Imposters are all retired and have not been re-released. Blooket cited low player count for Tower of Doom and Pirate's Voyage, ported Snowball Fight's mechanics into Blook Rush instead, and removed Imposters over Among Us copyright concerns plus violence framing. Pirate Pool is the closest replacement for Pirate's Voyage. Don't expect direct re-releases.

How is tokens-per-minute calculated for each mode?

Tokens-per-minute is the per-question rate (e.g. 2 tk/q post-rework) multiplied by realistic questions-per-minute for each mode's pacing, plus any round-clear or end-of-game bonuses scaled across average game length. The min/max ranges in the table bracket community-reported variance from skill, hosted-game pacing, and Plus Bonus inclusion. Mid is the typical experience for an average player on a full session.

What is the most complex Blooket game mode?

Tower Defense 2, Tower Defense, Factory, Crazy Kingdom, and Deceptive Dinos are the modes the Blooket Wiki tags as Complex. Each layers a strategy game on top of the question loop, which is why session lengths and ceilings are higher than the simple modes (Classic, Racing, Egg Hunt). Complex modes are also where post-rework rate increases pay off the most.

What is the Blooket daily token cap?

500 tokens per day across all modes combined. Once you hit the cap, additional play in the same day pays out at sharply reduced rates or zero. Multi-mode rotation doesn't bypass the cap — it's account-level. The only way to extend earnings is to wait for the daily reset (00:00 UTC).

Which game modes are exclusive to Blooket Plus?

Eight modes are Plus-exclusive: Busy Bees, Laser Tag, Mini Mine, Star Grazer, Coco Cabana, Egg Hunt, Tag or Treat, and (sometimes) Santa's Workshop. None offer a token-rate advantage over free modes. The actual Plus value is the +10 Plus Bonus per hosted game and the homework / classroom feature set, not the modes themselves.
