Tokens vs XP

Tokens and XP run on parallel tracks in Blooket. They are earned from the same gameplay sessions but capped separately, spent on completely different things, and the right optimisation changes depending on what you are chasing this week.

What each currency does

Tokens are spent in the Market on Packs. They are the only currency that turns into Blooks. Every pack opening, every chase run, every duplicate-resell loop, that is tokens.

XP drives Class Pass progression. Class Pass has 100 levels per season, unlocking cosmetics along the way. After level 90, every 2 levels awards 1 cosmetic. After level 100, XP is no longer consumed. XP also contributes to your Blook Score display in certain contexts, but it does not directly buy or unlock Blooks.

Both rise from the same activity, answering questions in game modes , but they are independent rewards. Hitting the token cap (500/day) does not stop XP from flowing. Hitting the XP cap (300/day) does not stop tokens.

Daily caps: 500 vs 300

The two caps are independent but interact in practice. The token cap (500 ) from gameplay is smaller in raw number but reached faster in high-rate modes. The XP cap (300 XP) is hit more slowly but still reaches zero benefit after your daily session if you play long enough.

Key point: the Daily Wheel awards tokens only, no XP. Its expected value of ~47 per spin is entirely outside the 500-token gameplay cap. There is no equivalent free daily XP source.

Earn rates by mode

The 3× multiplier is permanent for all players (since January 26, 2023) and applies to token earnings. XP rates are roughly constant across modes. Approximate rates per correct answer:

ModeTokens / answerXP / answerBest for
Classic~6 (with 3×)~3Tokens, fast cap
Tower Defense 2~3 (passive)~2AFK token + XP grind
Racing~4~4XP cap after token cap
Study Mode (solo)~5~3Solo token + XP grind
Battle Royale~4.5 (1.5×3)~3Competitive with mid-rate
Gold Quest~2.25 (0.75×3)~2Not recommended for either
Daily Wheel~47 avg (outside cap)0Free daily token bonus

Gold Quest earns only 0.75 tokens per correct answer, the lowest tier, well below Classic and Tower Defense 2. Avoid it if tokens per minute is the objective.

Class Pass and XP

Class Pass seasons run roughly October to September each year. Each season has 100 levels, with cosmetics unlocked at defined points along the track. The tiers are numbered (level 1–100), not labelled Bronze/Silver/Gold, do not confuse Class Pass levels with Blook Score badge ranks, which are a separate system.

After Class Pass level 90, a new cosmetic unlocks every 2 levels. After level 100, the season track is complete and additional XP in that season is not consumed by the Class Pass (though it still contributes to Blook Score calculations). The daily 300-XP cap applies throughout.

How to decide

  • Saving for a specific Blook? Optimise tokens. XP contributes nothing to pack-buying power; the Class Pass track progresses on its own from normal play.
  • Trying to complete a Class Pass season track? Optimise XP, but tokens still accumulate as a side-effect, so do not switch to a zero-token mode just for XP.
  • Daily driver with time to spare after token cap? Hit the 500-token cap first (it is the more valuable per-session target), then switch to a high-XP mode. Both caps fill before you run out of play time on most days.

For time-to-target math on a specific badge rank or Class Pass level, the XP calculator projects your current XP against the next threshold. For tokens, the token-grind calculator does the equivalent.
